I saw that in many articles you recommend (indirectly or directly) students to avoid engineering branch like metallurgy. I hate such kind of poorly studied suggestion by you. What does u know about metallurgy and materials Science branch? Each time you need not to think or make others to think that IT/software is the only field where person can achieve. Shame on you! You know almost nothing about metallurgy and materials science branch. Please do not give direct or indirect suggestions to peoples on the basis of your poor knowledge! I did my BTech from NIT, MTech from IIT and PhD from well-known US-university. Today\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'s world is world of materials science. This is such a fantastic branch that any professional from any engineering/science branch can come under its banner. Trust me in future all technology (not only bloody s/w & IT) developments depends on this branch..from your daily mobile-phone to fuel in your car..everything.
Improve your limited knowledge and then give others suggestions. You studied in IIM that does not means you know the whole world.

I was myself in metallurgy branch of a regional institute of technology. The toppers of our class went jobless. Some of them got jobs in small time steel companies at a poor salary. In contrast, the people who got into software companies are doing well today. Unless you have a real abiding interest in Metallurgy, there is no point in building your career there.
