Hi, I had made this choice sometime back and chose not to go to the IIT. Today I am glad I did it. For two very strong reasons and probably they will help other confused atmas as well, so I am putting them down here:
1) Firstly it gave me a chance to learn what I intended to learn as per my career aspirations.
2) Since I didnt have the benefit of a brand, I had to choose again, when I got out of college, whether to take it easy with a strong brand image, or to continue my learning, strive harder.
So I made the right choice, still continuing to learn, and grow, and my friends who had passed out of secondary schools and chose IIT, now are working under my in a large organisation. Why? they took their brand and their learnings for granted whereas I took life on.
