Have been interested in great sound and finally purchased a Harmon Kardan AV Receiver model AVR 2000 and Wharfedale Moviestar 70+. All this cost me around Rs 56,000/- in 2003. Already had a DVD player, a Philips Q35. However I have now replaced the DVD player with a Delhi brand called Takai. I have an LG player which tends to hang and hence have put it away. Find that DVD players are not important. Having an optical cable connection is to get the best sound effects.

My TV is a BPL 29" model and it is quite good even after 5 years of use. Watching movies with DTS and Dolby 5.1 with a good print is really fantastic. At night, I can reduce the bass by a special setting in the amp which reduces the dynamic range. Overall, am really glad at having purchased this combo, HK and Wharfedale. Am sure that there may be many newer models that will be better at the same price range or even less. The beauty of technology!
