Anger Management
by prashi on Jul 17, 2006 04:42 PM   Permalink

I try to distinguish if it is anger or hurt that I am feeling. Earlier I used to react in anger even when I was hurt and this used to take the attention away from the original hurt and focus it on my reaction much the same as what happened in the Zidane case. Now I calmly confront the concerned person with the fact that I am hurt by "so and so thing said/ done" etc. When I am angry, angry I say it without letting the anger show in my behaviour. "I am angry because...." I try to take away the focus from me when I get angry to what situation has made me angry. My learning is that all emotions are useful if channelised properly. It is a continuous process of evolution. Sometimes I shout too but I am not out of control. I know what I am doing and also know that, that is what I want to do.
