If my LTA is 10000, can I claim it in two parts in a single year, that is, by traveling twice a year and claiming 5000 for each trip.

No, i'm afraid u can't do that. one lta is valid for a single leave spell. if u want to take 2 trips, u have to take ur next lta in the next year.
