sir, I am going to US for my PhD on J1 visa. My wife will be applying for J2 after 2-3 months. please guide me regarding the financial requirements needed to get the visa without any problem. approx. how much should be shown on financial documents. And how much liquid cash is required. thanks

Hi,
You need just enough to pay for the Visa Fees at the USCIS for getting visa. J1 Visa is lot different from F1 student visa. But it is good to be prepared to show evidence and convince them that you do not intend to settle in the US.
