MEDICAL POST GRADUATION

Hi



I have done MBBS from india.



I am interested in doing post graduation from USA.



What is the process to get there, and what is the cost.



please give me this info, it will be great help.

For being able to join a PG training program in the US, one has to be certified by the ECFMG (Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates). To get the certificate, one has to clear 3 exams, USMLE Step1, Step2-CK and Step2-CS. The first two exams are MCQ exams that cover all the subjects that are a part of the medical education. These 2 exams can be taken in India itself at prometric testing centres. The third exam is a practical exam designed to assess one's communication, history-taking and physical examination skills. The approximate fees for the exams are around Rs.36,000, Rs.40,000 and Rs.60,000 respectively. My guess would be that the total cost till the time one actually enters the residency is around Rs.5-6 lakh. After clearing the exams and getting the certiicate, the application for a PG residency is an online process, followed by interviews at the programs that give an interview call.



The entire process would take atleast a year- usually, 2 years. For more information, visit the following sites:
