F2 visa
by Filsy on Aug 09, 2006 03:00 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Hello,
My problem is I was trying to bring my husband in F2 visa showing funds in bank. But now the consulate told him I need to have the income to support him. It is weird while I am a student how can I have income to support my spouse except through money already in the bank. How can I raise my income.

Well you can't really bring your husband on an F2. I am assuming you are a F1 student.
They will definitely reject his visa application. You cannot show finances from the US either.
His best option is to come on a F1.
Your best option is to finish your MS and then bring him on a H4 visa.

My wife also came here on F-2 visa without any problems, but I was a Grad Assistant and getting good money. If you are GA/RA and earning good money it will make your case strong.
