I am not sure about the information mentioned in this article. It would be great if the author can provide certain links or references for me to go and verify his statements.
Also, are the returns from PPF also taxed? Why does this extra income rule hold for NSC etc only and not PPF?

Principal amount paid in a home loan will get deducted from Rs 100,000 but what about the interest paid on the home loan. Author needs to clarify the same too.
