Clarify me this

I need a simple clarification.

Will the interest be higher or the same for

A - Rs. 5,000/- deposited in my PPF on 1st September 2005

B - Rs. 5,000/- deposited on 1st March 2006

C - Rs. 5,000/- deposited on 31st March 2006.

I would like to know the advantage of Case A versus Case B.

In Case A intrest amount earned is 262.5
.75x7x5000
In Case B interest amount earned is 37.5 only

This is for the year 2005-2006 only
