I want to make a investment in the mutual fund. So, the minimum amount to start the investment and also the minimum period for the investment to get the more benefits as compare to the FD in a bank.

Minimum you can start from Rs. 500...
Bank FD can give you only 7-8% in current scenario.But Mutual funds have the power to give excellent returns CAGR of 17% per year if you stay invested for long term.
