I am a teacher in Utpal Shanghvi School, Mumbai, INDIA, and would want to know more about IGCSE, CIE and the procedure to get affiliated with the same. Here are some of the questions I would want you to throw light on.

ABOUT IGCSE

·      Is CIE a methodology or a curriculum?
·      If our institution were to shift from the SSC Board to the IGCSE completely from Pre- Preschool itself how would the curriculum change?
·      Which is the earliest standard for us to begin with?
·      What kind of curriculum / syllabus are we to adopt including the choice of subjects that CIE would offer the students from Pre- Primary, Primary, Secondary?
·      What are the criteria for the school to turn in to IGCSE?

ABOUT THE STUDENTS

·      Do the students have to appear for any Entrance Test? What would be the admission criteria?
·      Which are the books that the children would carry to school and use under the teachers guidance?
·      Which are the minimum/ maximum subjects to be taken by the students?
·      What kind of exams would the students be taking up? How many times a year? What would be the criteria for internal assessment as an ongoing process?
·      After the 10th standard what is the opening for the student
