Switch over from BPO to IT.
by Indranil M on Dec 04, 2005 09:58 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Hi Zia,

I am an Electronics Engineering graduate and have done software courses like Java and Oracle. I have an experience of 5 1/2+ years in the BPO industry. I have been associated with various processes ranging from Web-based to voice to Back-Office.
However, I am interested in switching myself to the SAP field.
I am currently doing my management in Information Technology from the Symbiosis institute.
I would like to know how would SAP help in boosting my career.
Also, within SAP, which area would be most suitable for me (e.g., manufacturing, financials, etc).
Awaiting your reply soon.

Sincerely,

Indranil Mukherjee

Hi,Experience is valued in BPO as well, in terms of entry level salaries. Only thing the employers are afraid of is the possibility of attrition if overqualified persons are employed. You will initially find it difficult to get in the commune of young professionals (if not kids). However, if the salary is satisfying, you may join.If you have good interpersonal and motivational skills, this sector promises vertical growth. Join a good company with acclaimed employee satisfaction.
