All the examples shown in this article are couples who are both earning members and are distinctly well to do people (film directors, fashion designers etc). Can someone suggest something for middle class people, especially where only one member of the family is the earning member.

Hey, Middle class is only a "state of mind". If your definition of middle class is both husband and wife working in salaried jobs - and not yet in the managerial cadre. - then Thats me and my wife.. And it applies nicely - we are no fancy fashion designers or some such jazz deal!
