It is unfortunate

Call centers are primarily interested in making money. All other considerations are unimportant - no matter how much management tries to convince you otherwise.
It is not unusual for a call center senior manager to tell you that you are as good as your last job (no one remembers how well you have been doing in the past), or that with or without you the call center will continue. In such circumstances, how will an employee ever have pride in his/her work.
While I understand no employee is indispensable, call centers make it a point to take full advantage of this idea (i.e. none is indispensable) to exploit their young, brimming employees.
One word of advice to youngsters considering call center employment. Do so only if you have an exit plan-that is, you know you will leave in a short period of time, maybe after making/saving so much money/getting a better job in another industry. Or if you know that you can make a cultural difference within the BPO (difficult option). If you feel like you will go with the flow, then do not join a BPO - you will be squeezed. Just remember there are better options out there which will at least help you keep your peace/soul.
