I found the article very informative and useful.However I havea query which will be of interest to many taxpayers. If one is retired and has income only from other sources which includes Rs.24000 from LIC Varishta Bima Yojana can standard deduction be applied since .. it is a pension payable for life. Please advise . Krishnan
