Retaining BPO employees
by Kausik Malakar on Dec 16, 2004 05:06 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Hi,

I would like to stress on the point number one once again. In India, a country which is considered to have the best skillset for the overall IT industry, ITES is not recognized as a part of IT industry. Its simply considered as some other product selling agents(because most of the companies are involved in outbound calls). The guys of age group of 20s have a natural tendency to earn some money and invest in higher education(MCA/MBA). And once they get into the entrance, they can see the bright future options on the horozon.

Nest is that if you see the employees they are coming from good English medium schools (which are considered to produce the best students in the country till now), they are ambitious.

Again, the composition of the employee strength shows maximum are ladies coming from affluent background, and no such ambition they have a tendency to settle down marrying an NRI.

We need to think abot this industry really.
