you are absolutely right dilip... instead of winning another world cup..after 24 years they got out of this event in first round..and they r celebrationg this as it can not be achieved again.. also people who r investiong money into such occassion, they should invest their money in upliftment of this game and try to win another cup as soon as possible...

I prefer a different view here.Only after 1983 world cup win, Indian cricket started flourishing. Idia, since then, has won 19 tournaments(involving three or more teams), ranked third -Australia(34) and Pakistan (22). West Indies(17) is the fourth. Kapils 175 is the Best innings in a world cup, because otherwise we would have been back home. Usually the "FIRST" is always celebrated, what is wrong in celebrating 1983 world cup silver jubilee?
