Aussies- England have long ceased to be the rivals they were on and off the field.India-Pakistan matches have also lost the needle and the tension they had some time ago. Due to events starting from Ganguly-Waugh stand off,Crowd behavior during the Aussie tour of India in Oct 2007 and the recent face off between Harbhajan-Symonds the relations between the teams have have soured and will be cold for some time to come. Hence India and Australia are the latest Arch Rivals in cricket.

Well interesting points made. Thanks.
But I do have some reservations in this aspect. I feel we added one more arch rivals that is all. What we had before still exists.
India and pakistan still have same intensity when it comes to arch rivalry. It cannot disappear so easily.
Regarding australia-england it still persists very much. In fact many of us do not know how much rivalry they have. I realized it recently when Tony Greg was speaking to commentators;
he was attacking australian commentators like anything. Whatever they tell he was counter attacking. The australians were attacking Indians and Tony was attacking australians.
Tony was even asking questions like why did Bajji told something to Symmonds?? symmonds must have told something which might have infuriated Bajji, that might have provoked him to tell something etc etc.
Now tell me which of we Indian have Pen;;is? not a single Indian so far asked what made Bajji loose his control?? But an English man asking such questions and also defending Indians seriously,
And that was because how much rivalry the england and australians have in cricket. It is their in their blood as well. They really take it seriously.
I think Benson was england umpire, and definitely Bucknor brain washed him, otherwise Bucknor was helping Australia, and Benson helping India, but it didn't happen because Bucknor had more influence on Benson.

The last test series between aus and eng was a sell-out. More people went to this series than ever before. The series in england in 2005 was said to be the best ever, if anything, the series betwen eng/aus are at an all time high
