Macaca
by Amar Kumar on Jan 09, 2008 01:47 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

The word Monkey is indeed a racial slur.

A US senator called an Indian guy SR Siddarth as Macaca (Monkey) last year and he was reprimanded severely. In fact he lost the elections due to this.

So Harbhajan should be suspended.

Please don't assume somthing which has not proven with any evidence.

Monkey might be a racial slur... Bhajji said it is not confirmed. Would you listen only Mike Procter and his likes in Australian team. Sachin should have had heard it if was the case because he was the closest on the ground.

Please read the article above.
Prem Panicker has written that Independent sources have told him that Harbhajan indeed called Symonds a monkey

abe bandar,

Prem's article says Bhajji apparently did call Symonds a monkey IN BARODA during recent Aussie visit to India. Whether this slur was repeated in the Sydney test is only alleged, without any evidence. samjhe?

So now you authorize Prem Panicker as referree ?

If he thinks so, let him think. But I am asking you not to assume something which lacks evidence. The whole hearing process itself lack integrity. Its not acceptable how Mike Procter behaved and went on after hearing one side story while not paying attention to our views.

If Prem Panicker did not know the facts. he should not have written this article at the first place. Prem Panicker should be held accountable for what he writes.
I am only pointing that in some cultures that word Monkey can be construed as a racial term. On the other hand Prem Panicker thinks Monkey is a normal word and that his wife calls him as a monkey. Now that is ridiculous.

1) If he had called then he should be banned, but no one has heard him saying/calling that.

2) What about Clarke being banned for calling Dhoni and Kumble a bastard

3) How about Ponting being banned for saying he took the catch, when he knew he did not

4) How about Gilchrist being banned for the wrong appeal when he knew Dravid had not nicked it.

The second, third and fourth points have proofs to prove it. So they should be banned and that second test be declared as VOID/NO RESULT

The first point you had the 2 umpirees saying they did not hear it and the batsmen at the other end saying he did not hear it.

So before writing something down please think
