who is the umpire to as ponting whether the batsman was out or not...if it is the case then what's the use of TV umpire,all the decisions should be made in consent with the fielding skipper....its ridiculous..!!!!! ICC Should take the matter seriously and make the result Void...

Absolutely true. Its ridiculous is complete stupidity that catching decisions are left to be decided by the fielding teams captain.
From cricinfo.com: "They were certain it was out, but Benson wasn't sure. He looked to Bucknor at square leg and then walked down the pitch and asked Ponting what he thought. "He caught it," Ponting seemed to say and put his finger up. Benson did the same. "
This is the worst form of umpiring. And how did ICC let this process get approved? If you are in doubt take the help of third umpire not Ponting.
