A little bit of appreciation of Tamil history!!
by John Miles on Apr 24, 2008 02:07 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

I guess you are making emotionally laced statements!!

But remember and appreciate the history of India...North Indians, having more Aryan blood in them, had a superiority complex and patronized the tribes that had more Dravidian blood in them...

The tamils, with dravidian blood in them, resented the fact that they were patronized by the Aryans...over a period of time, this mentality got ingrained in the genes and made them more stubborn and competitive with an air of self preservation!!
Over a period of time, they asserted themselves in many fields including art, science, technology, business and many of the Iyers and esp. Iyengars, earned names for themselves in these fields..

The wheel had thus come full circle, and the Tamils proved that they were second to none, and if given the opportunites, dravidian blood was as good, if not better, than Aryan blood....

After the wave of achievement and self assertion, came the wave of regional jingoism by which Tamils excluded non-tamils from most activities and businesses in their state...provincialism took firm root and regionalistic fervour took a hyperbolic state...Keralites, Telugus and Kannadigas were systematically marginalized and the Tamil state was born...
An air of self preservation coupled with intense regionalistic fervour made a heady concoction.......almost as if a self contained independent self reliant Tamil state existed within a larger Indian state....

The third wave came in the form of parochialism

The third wave came in the form of parochialism and bigotism.....narrow regionalistic fervour promoted by pure dravidians saw the creation of a win-lose society and Tamilians with Aryan mix now faced the axe...English speaking Iyengars and Iyers were now marginalised and Hindi became an abhorrent word....the utopian Tamil Eelam state was thus born!!

Is this a screenplay you're writing ? Has a lot of well fabricated backstory like Matrix.
When will you start filming this fantasy theory of yours ?

There is no such thing as Aryan and Dravidian tussle and domination and things like that, all these are the figments of imagination of some western bigot who due to domination of Europeans in middle ages got a chance to print his crap. Aryans and Dravidians intermingled with each other and the complex and composite culture of India is because of each of them. Both the cultures have done India proud. Stop creating unnecessary and imaginary struggles and do not attempt to create impediments on the path of success on which India is sprinting.

Yes i agree with Ramasami.. this was a story inserted by British...extending divide and rule policy.

INDIA and INDIANS are all same no region or religion or caste etc. Let us all grow together and help each other...
