Asif,Pollock and McGrath
by Saths on Apr 23, 2008 01:23 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Hopefully Indian pacers like RP Singh,Munaf and Sreesanth can learn a thing or two from this duo along with Shaun Pollock. Balaji was a Pollock in the making with his attitude and discipline but unfortunately he is probably never going to bowl due to the politics around him. Our pacers except Ishant seem to have no plan whatsoever when they come out to bowl. They bowl one good ball and the next as usual at the leg or short so the batsman can have a go. They don't have discipline and patience. Asif and McGrath showed that yesterday and Pollock againt KKR by showing patience and discipline you can restrict any batting lineup. Sreesanth should be actually banned from cricket for his antics but since India is a cricket superpower ICC is reluctant. Sreesanth is a Shoaib Akthar in the making. Atleast Akthar has some pace to show but Sreesanth is just useless and only god can save Punjab. This guys attitude will ruin any chances that Punjab has. Poor Brett Lee is stuck with this classless Moron who shouts at fellow teammates Kaif and Yusuf Pathan when they did nothing against him.

I agree too. I cannot say Balaji was a Pollock in the making but yes, he did bowl very well on good batting wickets in Pakistan and poor chap he is out of the team now and getting older by the day. Pollock did not bowl against KKR but against Bangalore Royal Challengers. He is yet to play Kolkata.

Sreesanth is indeed inconsistent and he lacks body strength. He should actually be dropped from one dayers. We may have plenty of pacers but barring Zaheer who has always been luckless, RP and Ishant - the others are quite ordinary. Munaf, Sreesanth, Irfan have all deteriorated badly with time.

Pakistan are lucky to have Asif, Gul and Tanveer who are a lethal attack - actually much better off without Shoaib and Sami who were a much hyped overrated duo.

I agree. Ishant Sharma looks the deadliest of bowlers India has produced for quite some team.
He has the accuracy similar to that of a McGrath or a Donald.
I cant think of any other Indian bowler who looked like picking up a wicket every time he ran up to bowl other than Srinath at his peak.
Let's hope he evolves to become a world class pace bowler. He's still just 19.
As for Sreesanth, I havent seen a more inconsistent bowler. One day he bowls like a champ, the next day he is all over the place.

YES ISHANT BOWLS REALLY WELL, HE SHOULD MAINTAIN. SUCCESS AND FAME SHOULD NOT GO TO HIS HEAD, THAT IS WHERE LOT OF OUR CRICKETERS LOST IN THE MAKING. LET US HOPE ISHANT KEEPS COOL HEAD.... HE IS GREAT PROSPECT NO DOUBT ABOUT THAT.
