MEDIA DISCREDITION
by damodaran mohan on Apr 08, 2008 07:36 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

This is simply ridiculous. It only vindicates the general perception that BCCI is interested only in making money and not in promoting the game. It seems to be guided by narrow commercial considerations only even at the cost of CRICKET. The combined MEDIA must reject this type of micromanagement for commercial gains and against the discriminatory treatment being meted out to websites. Print media must stand united with the web world which is growing. Media in general may depict Lalit Modi as a Marketing genius and wizard however after this greedy media accredition clause induced Media aberration I wonder whether Lalit Modi is a BOON or BANE to CRICKET

Modi a genius? ECB came up with and demonstrated successsfully how 20-20 can attract the youth even in a country crazed for soccer. This is like the guy who'll steal your idea and quickly patent it. Frankly 20-20 represents nothing mroe than an aWARDS night where you get to see stars and probably get photographed with them. For me watching Tendlya for 6-20 balls is no great spectacle. Id rather take a day off of work and watch him construct a hard working 70 odd in half a days play against the worlds best bowler and get out to a spectacular effort on the field. But then again I am one of those 0.1% who does play amateur cricket and loves the game, most of the folk may not care what they get.
