south african bowlers are far superior
by ganguly dada on Apr 05, 2008 09:20 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

the sa bowling attack is much better than the indians.there bowlers hit the deck hard.i haven't seen such hostile fast bowling for a long time.at times dale steyn was bowling six short pitched balls for over and that too at searing pace and extraordinary bounce.the support bowling was also great.they were bowling at an average speed of 145km per hour throughout the day.compared to them indian bowlers averaged around the 130 mark which is military medium for the sa batsmen who have been having nets against bowlers like steyn and ntini.therefore, the preparation of a wicket which was seaming around for three days was a folly.we should prepare result oriented wickets assisting spin bowling which is the indian strength.if we keep preparing such seaming wickets at home, india will keep losing.in the last 5 years india has performed well abroad.but at home, for some odd reason or the other, our team has been getting seaming wickets or batting paradises which assist neither pace nor spin.

A champion team should be able to perform in whatever pitch they're given.. Do not blame the pitch guys, it's our poor batting & bowling that has let us down... I wish even in the next match they should be given a fast pitch..

Good post, however I think we should have these kind of wkts once in a while for a reality check. I think in a 3 test series we should have a fast wkt, a spinning wkt and a batting wkt. For domestic tournaments, however we should have wkts like Ahmedabad for at least 75% of the matches. This will help our batsmen improve their technique against fast bowlers and encourage our fast bowlers.

good observation bro, but, whenever a touring team plays it first match, the wicket should assist the indians.then later in the series we can have fast wickets when we are not in danger of losing the series.and, that way our batsmen could be tested as well.

True. Altho, in this match umpiring was atrocious and smacks of racism. Kallis, ABD were out 3-4 time before finally leaving the pitch. In Indian innings, Sehwag and Ganguly got bad decisions. This turned the match into farce and really no sheen in the victory. Cannot play 11 vs 13.

yup, sehwag was out.guys, the funny thing abt that is that sehwag got out lbw to a bowler who has abt 17 lbw dismissals out of the 350 odd wickets he has taken because of run up and bowling action.the aussies play ntini best.they stretch forward and always get outside the line of the ball even if they are hit on the pads.so,they hardly get lbw to ntini.if you are getting out lbw to ntini, you are not doing your homework.

well, this is a timepass post and should be treated as such. SA has exposed major chinks in our 'STRONG' batting line up and we should accept it and work towards improving it.
