Unnecessary Celebration!
by adi sap on Sep 26, 2007 02:36 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

We can very well celebrate the Indian Team's success in T20 competition. But certainly not in this way. This can literally demoralise other sports persons and in real sense Indian Army as well.

India emerged triumphat in the recently finished Asian hockey championship, but Government did nothing for the players. and today Yusuf Pathan, for the 15 runs he scored in the final is given a monetary reward of Rs.11 lakhs!... That says it all.

How about the Army jawans and officials who lost their limbs in Kargil war and are struggling for their livelihood. They are yet to get compensation from the Government.

What kind of a state India is in? The Government failed to prioritise the things correctly and puts cricket ahead of Indian Army.
This can seriously damage the morale of many real heroes of our country.

Country men, give a serious thought and oppose this ostentatious usage of public funds by the Government....

Well..you don't go and attach a soldier's home when he returns defeated from war... do you?? You don't burn effigies of soldiers who are defeated either....but you do attack Dhoni's house when he performs poorly.... and you burn effigies of Tendulkar when he gets out cheaply....If you think Cricket is just a game then why do we all do this. Why do we abuse our team and Chappell when he come back empty handed from World Cup Cricket...why do we talk about taking away their endrosements when we loose matches...well...if we do all that then we might as well celebrate their WIN don't you think??? This only proves what big hypocretes we are.

I completely agree. I think the hysteria that cricket create in India is far more powerful than any other things including war heros returning home.
