South Indian Does not have Leadership Qualities, at least in Indian Cricket Team. Look at - Kapil Dev - world cup winner 1983. Sourav Ganguly - Runners Up in WC 2003 Mahendra Singh Dhoni- Winner of 1st T20 World Cup.
Rahul Dravid - Not qualified for Super Eight in 2007 WC.

What a fantastic observation. It seems that all good leaders in North India has gone to play Cricket allowing the country to slip into 18th century. Ther is more poverty in North India. They are less literate. While Bangalore, Chennai, and Hyderabad are fast becoming focus of development, Mumbai is still known for the slums it has and the innumerable prostitutes, an underworld which breeds criminals everyday. There is more kidnappings in North India. Bihar is ruled by Gundaas. Please ask all those Big leaders in North India to stop playing cricket and lead their people who had been suffering for so long under the cruel and tyrannical landlords and spineless and corrupt idiotic politicians. (refer India Today's Survey of the Indian states)

Mr Kumar Kalyan, If south indians are not good leaders, it is because cricket is governed by some from Mumbai and north India. They won't allow south Indians to come up. They dominate the game.

It seems East Indian produces great and succesful captains :)
First it was Ganguly and now Dhoni .. Just kidding. I dont think it is fair to divide india in regions. For Ganguly dravid, Kumble, VVS played great games which helped his statistics. I want to remind you the Captain is not the only leader. some one can lead in other ways also.

I think all who have replied to the above observations of Mr Kumar Kalyan, have missed the important point - and are bringing in examples of Narayana Moorthy, Kalam etc. Kumar Kalyan's says "SIndian does not have leadership qualities, at least in Indian Cricket Team" repeat "Indian Cricket Team". Replies have brought in irrelelant issues.
So try to attack him on cricket rather than telling on all other fields, and about slums in Bombay, Goondaism, poverty, prostitution and totally nonsensical issues, which he has not at all talked about.
Well, to give another failed Indian South Indian Cricket captain is Venkat Raghavan. I challenge any of you to give an example of a successful south Indian Cricket captain - Azharuddin, or Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi - though played for Hyderabad may not be classified in the traditional South Indian class. They were quite successful - though may not have brought world cup. They should probably put under the N Indian class or at best central India.
To make my arguments stronger - may I say that I am a hard core south Indian Tamilian, and I do feel sorry that no south Indian has made a good cricket captain.
So what, is cricket is the only thing important in life. South Indians have been great Scientists and Educationalists. Above all - they are less haters of other religions (read specifically Muslims). Except for (let me not name them) some of the present day Tamil Nadu politicians, they are good human beings.
