Congrats
by Gopal Krishna on Sep 26, 2007 03:48 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Congratulations to Dhoni on the T20 victory.

One humble request: I have detected a tendency on your part to emulate your pakistani counterparts by answering questions in yoru language (Hindi/Urdu) and English. Please realise that you are representing all of India and not just North India/Muslims. So please do no attempt to impose Hindi/Urdu on the 60% of population for whom Hindi/Urdu is not the primary language.

Bullshit!!! You speak what you want to speak and let others do the same. What language should he speak in then although 60% of people don't speak Hindi, Urdu or English? We must accept people as they are and not be swayed by regionalism or fanaticism!

You cant expect him to talk in Tamil, can you ?
I'm from the Southern part of India as well and I dont know Hindi fluently but I wouldnt consider Dhoni not representing the whole country because he speaks in Hindi.
It's his native language and you expect him to be fluent and comfortable with his language.
He also seems to make a big effort to speak in English during the post match interviews and has improved quite well over a short period of time.

What stupidity Gopal Krishna! As pointed out by Satish,He cannot speak differet languages.I am Kashmiri, if I expect everyone to talk to me in Kashmiri,I will have to go years before someone will speak to me.

I think Gopal Krishna is aPaki or Bangladeshi, these fellows hear all sort of crap in their lousy press and beleive that their is a division between people of India. The only division is tokenism, that too just on important occasions, that are indulged by political parties like AIDMK or DMK, but the normal people of India dont worry about such problems.

Go home Paki, enjoy your jihaad, but dont crap here!

Indians should learn n stick to Hindi the shudh version..not Urdu which is currently used in Bollywood and by N Indians...when Sushmita Sen keeps saying inshallah like a mullah u wanna puke !! Urdu sounds like a Middle Eastern language and should not be used in Indian movies.

Deepak, get your facts right first before commenting . For your info, Urdu is purely an Indian Language & derived most of its words from Sanskrit as most of other Indian Languages. Ofcourse Urdu also conatins a lot of Arabic words also.

Javeri ji, thoda gussa thanda karo. It is insane to generalise comments against people. Firstly, Hindi is not everybodys mother tongue; It is a national language. Secondly, it is rude to blame people as an insult to the nation. 'You' are equally an insult to the nation. Yes, I do not agree with gopal krishnan and I have put my comments to it. Dare you not blame any person for their opinion without introspection on your own self. I am proud to say that I speak better Hindi than many Hindi speaking people. I also speak/ understand Malayalam, Tamil, Punjabi, Haryanvi, Gujrati and a wee bit of French. Is that a problem? Can you do any better? I believe that it is 'to each one his/ her own'. Nothing that your people has acheived matters to you....unless you yourself have achieved something. If you feel so strongly for the country, please put your efforts towards making it a better place to live in, and not shouting at blaming others. With earnest best wishes,
your fellow citizen.

You fool idli-dosa, if you can spend your whole life in learning English, shich is a foreign language and not your mother toungue, why can't you spend a few months in learning your national language Hindi?
It was good for Dhoni to speak in his natural language to express himself well. A player is not supposed to be fluent in English or any other foreign language.
