Fighting spirit lacking in Dravid leadership.
by New Yorker on Sep 25, 2007 07:32 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Put only the Northern in charge and you will see anger, egos and a attitude to never give up and fight. Thats always missing from Southern boys [ maybe history is to blame for their no-gut-they never saw invasion across the border, never needed to show gut to fight and hence are always complacent].

Northern & North-Eastern boys rule! They can fight and create respect for India. Keep this going.

Beg to differ!!! Yes South was protected from conflicts!! And you guys had to fight!! But you did not win anything!! Conquered by Turks, Mughals, British etc etc. Indian freedom struggle was hardly militant. And after Independence the whole of India fought together.

Only North to North Eastern area had international border and fought all the wars and external aggression. It makes a difference whether you'd like to believe it or not. Indias freedom struggle started in Kolkata, Bengal till Lahore, Punjab. Even in USA we can see the degree of complacency in Southern people verses Northern and North-Eastern people-again whether you like it or not. Many Americans even ask the same.

Respect the tough and you'll become tough soon like in academics student respect the previous toppers or in sports. Don't take it personally.

Well I don't know about the disrespect for Hindu Gods-that maybe a small percentage. Most South Indians are more religious than many folks from UP and Bihar I know off. As for Kuranadhi- he is a atheist and like most Communist party caders never show respect for any religion-whatever they show is for political gain. These should not be counted as a major force.

It is not the question as to who is superior-South, North, East or West! We are first and foremost Indians. The victory has made everyone proud and happy; the captain, a debutant and team mates deserve rich applaud which the ex-captain has done; I join him.

How stupid u can be? It is people like u who r responsible for creating rift between Indians. And u have no idea of geography or history either!! Dhoni is from Eastern India. Saurav, the most successful Indian captain is from Eastern India.
Pathan, the man of the match is from Western India, and Sreesanth, the man who took the last catch and also took 4 for 12 against a team like Australia is a south Indian.

It is the sum of all that makes India what it is!!
