captaincy confusions
by siva kumar on Sep 18, 2007 05:51 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

The Indian Cricket Board and Selectors have once again proved that they are a bunch of jokers by selecting Dhoni as captain.
Dhoni, in spite of his peculiar style of batting, may be a good player, but totally not having the experience as captain. Once Ganguly is available for captaincy, putting such a huge responsibility on Dhoni"s shoulders, is utter foolishness.
That too against Australians who are very tough and aggressive team, a man of high calibre should be leading the side.
Whatever criticism may be there against Dada, nobody will disagree that, as of now he is the only credible choice.
When Cricket in India is controlled by such clowns who do not Know the difference between a foot ball and a cricket ball such things only are bound to happen..

did SA suffer when they appointed Greame Smith? We ought to take our chances and look towards building for the future--when India won 18 matches on the trot where was ganguly in the team--pls note cricket is a team game--nobody is indispensible--Dhoni needs all the support and encouragement.

Well said Jaysimha. These Bengalis will support Ganguly as captain even when he is 80 years old. It is only Bengali rhetoric. The BCCI has made a good move by appointing Dhoni as captain. Atleast they are looking at the future.
