At the outset, let me make it clear that I am ashamed of the spectators who behaved poorly. But, Ponting should know that Indians are very passionate about their team. It was Ponting who started playing mind games by saying that they preferred to play against the 'old guys', etc. The indian spectators are very knowledgable about the game and reacted. Also it is worth noting that Symonds had tiffs with almost all the indian players. So, there may be a problem with his behaviour. The spectators picked up on this and started targeting him. Please note that Symonds was not taunted in any of his previous visits to India.

The racist ploy was Symonds mind game. Does he really care? NO. But he has started a whole new controversy. I don't think there were any chants in Vadodra but he came out with a grand indea , provocated the people and now it is all over. If there was a racist chant in Vadodra and if he really cared about racism, he should have brought it to the notice of officials and not the media. WHat did your mother teach you when a guy on the street called you names....go scream around the town or deal with the parents of the kid. By screaming around he has incited the public. Moreover as rightly said it was Symonds who had trouble with Bhhajji, Pathan, Sreesanth and list goes...even in the Bombay match the team OZ was pissed off towrds the end...So all those who are talking in favour of the OZs understand that there is a difference betweeen Gandhigiri and Cowardism....You are cowards...
