Trash talking is an art. Why on earth do we want to pay attention to what Gavin wants to say? This guy has been a moron for a long time anyways. There are a few points to note here:
1. When Gavin says "talking back only inspires the Aussies", he is again throwing the gauntlet back at the Indian guys. THis is meant to be another barage to create doubts in the minds of people that are actually doing the talking!
2. You could walk out there with ear plugs or just try to ignore these guys. But, by talking back to them and pushing them you are getting under their skin for sure. Everytime Sreesanth talked back to Symonds, he tried something stupid. Reality is, Sreesanth got Symonds out in both the games.
3. I agree that you want to ignore the guys but, if you can make it fun, why not go after them? Afterall what we are trying to do is get into their minds.
4. When Gavin says they are masters at sledging he is again telling us what they are GREAT at. Again telling the guys who read that Indians may not be too good at it. Why on earth are you reacting if this has not effected your team Gavin?
5. SA have always done the weird thing against the Aussies. They have tried to go at them too aggressively leaving themselves open. The first two games even though lost, were not really a disaster. The talk had its effect. Let me explain in the next post.
