If we have bouncy pitches
by lutiya doobi on Nov 29, 2007 02:24 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

If we have bouncy pitches, Dada will begin to dance instead of batting. That is why we should have slow turners so that Dada can hit sixes!

I don't think he danced in SA last year..Even in Australia in 2003 he played the Aussie quicks pretty well..His innings in Brisbane and Melbourne displayed genuine class and temparament..

Sourav is class player. His return proves his class. Its true that somtime he fails, but must be remember that "Form is temporary but class is parmanent".He must shows his class in any type of pitch.

One of the main reason why India suceeded in Australia last tour was success of indian openers. The absence of Mcgrath and Warne is also another reason. Mcgrath always removes opener cheaply. Infact a player like Sehwag with such a flawed technique, he could get him 9 out of 10 times in Australia. Remeber what Asif did to Sehwag in Pakstan. Asif is the only guy close to Mcgrath in terms of accuracy.

Yes you are right. McGrath and Warne were out of the whole series. Gillepsie played a few matches. Brett Lee was also out for the first two matches. Fast bowling was done by the likes of Andy Bichel, Bradd Williams etc.
Then, of course, Sidney was a dead pitch both for fast bowlers and spinners. We made 700 plus runs in the first innings and still couldn't win the match.

Dada is the most elegant left hander in world of cricket till date. He is an opener and you would see how performs. In recent tour to SA where bouncy tracks are there, he was the lone Indian batsman to do something of note. So be sure to see him perform.

Dada has poor fitness and often drops catches, get his partner run out and himself gets run out. running between wickets is also pathetic but in India stars can not be crticised and they are willing to look at their weakness and improve upon.

We have good spin players. But we don't have a single player who is very good against quality fast bowling. We don't have players of the calliber of kallis, ponting, hayden or pieterson. But it's true that we have few players who are very elegant stroke makers.
It's always good to watch them playing. But unfortunately in cricket if you don't have proper technique, you can't last long.

From where you got this valuable information that DADA is more elegant left hander than Gower, Sobers and Lara. I want to refer that .
Then I might find myself more elegant Right handed batsmen than Bradman , Sachin & Richards
