Tendulkar declining Test Captaincy
by Sashi Rao on Nov 06, 2007 11:07 PM   Permalink

It is a real letdown that Tendulkar declined the job.Probably he just doesnt have the guts to take up the challenge after his earlier failures as captain. He knows it easier to shoot from somebody else's shoulder than others doing the same from his shoulder and back !If he wants to concentrate on batting, then we need a real nonperformer like Ajit Agarkar to lead the team !! Outrageous idea ,yes, but that is drama for you ! Everybody is saying that Dhoni should be given more time to settle down in his T20/1day captaincy role. Has anybody thought of persuading Dravid to take over again who is still our best bet, provided all are all behind him.But this is unlikely with both Pawar and Vengaskar never climbing down from their lofty pedastals and king sized egos. Finally, Tendulkar's fear of failure has put the BCCI in deep trouble.
Given the distinct bias agaisnt those from the South, chances of Kumble or Laxman are also remote.
