What are the rules?
by Nihal Gopinathan on May 08, 2007 07:18 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

If it is within the rules of the game then it can be permitted... it's not that the squash ball gave him added POWER... people put extra padding in gloves sometimes to get a better grip... and actually... I think a squash ball is actually a hindrance! Wonder how he did it... anyway I guess it's useless to comment on anything unless you know the rules... let's not take anything away from Gilly's knock!

He has purposely told this 'secret' so other teams can start doing the same till it remains legal. Now you can see 2 balls in gloves, 2 in shoes, one below helmet, one in mouth and every player who does it will score 50

well said, even i was thinking on the same lines. i mean it would be a hindrance to me if i did it. i think it just was a mental thing.that his coach gave an idea. and he decided to use it. maybe he got some success with it, and he took it as a catalyst, albeit not correctly. sometimes mentally if you think something is a good idea, even if it actually doesn't change the situation, you tend to do better, because of the psychological effect. and i think that's the case with gilchrist too.
