what a funny article...
by jimmy thomas on May 09, 2007 02:53 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

if you ask me, which is the most stupid and non-relevant question of the century it would be this..." did gilchrist cheat?" I mean we are talking about a guy who always walks if he feels he is out and doesn't really appeal if he fees the batsman is not out. everybody knows gilchrist is the most honest and fair cricketer, the game has seen. so what a senseless question to the members. "did gilchrist cheat?" anyway rediff should never have allowed this article in the first place making unnecessary gossipping and cheap publicity. And I can't believe the senseless and irresponsible action of the srilankans. I don't think, jayavardene or the team members have anything to do with this. its just the board. some unworthy, useless scum is making a mountain out of not even mole. lets salute gilchrist, this once in a lifetime, genius and enjoy his future innings.

Well said Mr Thomas... From the current crop of players, Gilchrist stands head and shoulders over others as far as sportsmanship is concerned.. I also dont think Adam Gilchrist deserves to be branded as a cheat for what he did during his great innings in the World Cup final. Nowadays, we often see close in fielders wearing pads inside their pants as a measure of safety to avoid injury to their legs. Does this not give an unfair advantage to such fielders?

It'snot Gilly who cheated. It's Rahul Dravid and Co who cheated. Cheated us, millions of fans. It's us who cheated. Cheated ourselves into believing that a below par team was the world beater. It's the media who cheated. Cheated the fans by creating the hype around the Indian nonperformers. Cheated the cup organizers. ANd yes my gut feeling has been correct. When Dravid and Chappel and Co were appointed the skipper and coach respectively I'd dared them to do a repeat performance of what Dada and Wright were able to acheive four years back.
