It is a shame that this unnecessary controversy had been raised about Gilchrist using a squash ball. How can that be cheating? It would be cheating if he had used wider bat or something like that. Using a squash ball inside the gloves does not give any undue advantage. It is like using a thicker gloves. If you call this cheating then what about Muralitharan's and Malinga's actions? Please dont take away anything from one of the best one day innings played by Gilchrist.

do you know that it's the sponge inside the squash ball he used and that is what is called "crazy ball" and that has a tremendous amount of shock absorbing ability and recoil.
That is a huge advantage.
It's all the difference between a 6 and a catch on teh boundary.

i believe it also adds a certain amount of uncertainty to how well the batsman meddles the delivery on the day. it was a gamble, with no direct implications on his shot making ability except to provide him with a better grip, which could easily also have been done by using a dotted glove surface!

If you use it every match it is not cheating because everyone knows that you are using!
