If a former SL player could be allowed use a bat which was visibly at least 3/4 inch broader than the allowed width, then how could you call a batsman who has slipped a ball in his glove a cheat? If anything I would find it a hindrance to have an object in my glove that would stop me from gripping the bat properly.

Friend.. The ball was a rubber one.. A rubber ball acts just like a spring and it gives the batsmen an undue advantage.
Gilchrist used the ball only in the Final and he scored only in this final.
