Welcome Ganguly
by Sameer K on Mar 30, 2007 05:07 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

They are welcoming him cause he showed he can now play test cricket in one dayers by scoring 66 in 129 balls against Bangladesh.

If a team like Bangladesh can put pressure on someone like Ganguly who use to boost when he was sacked, that he has scored 15 thousand international runs, then just imagine what the better teams like Australia, South Africa etc would have done to him. These werent the Indian pitches where Ganguly got the MOS award against a weak SL bowling attack on batting pitches.

He was so sluggish even against Bermuda. But he can now play test cricket and he proved it.

One of the worst test batsmen to grace test cricket, his averages which are near 30, No of 50s, 100s(Only 1), against tough opponents like Australia, South Africa, Pakistan & West Indies, prove how delicate his mindset was against fast bowlers.

Kolkatta Welcomes a One Day Specialist who showed he can play test cricket in one dayers too.

Sameer - Pls note that Ganguly has atleast scored in this addition of the WC and lead India to Finals in 2003 unlike Sachins, Dravids and Dhonis of the world who failed miserably with the Bat. Accept the fact that he was the best captian and very good batsmen we have had.
If he played slow and scored than think about it had he also flopped... remove his runs from Bangladesh match and you know what I am saying... Its sad the first the many countrymen like joined in humiltaing the most succesful captian at the behest of that Greg Chappel and now still getting angry if some good hearted intelligent people are giving him is due respect.

Long live DADA..!! Sourav, you were the best and you are best..

I think sehwag scored more than Ganguly and his 48 against Sri Lanka should be holded in more high esteem than Ganguly's 60 against Bangladesh cause bangladesh bowling against is nowhere near to what SL attack is.

So Sehwag scored more runs than Ganguly and now The bengali's should go to Delhi and give a warm belated welcome to Sehwag too so that we indians can see this news or read it and laugh and have fun at the attitude of bongs.

Yeah Mr Sengupta u r right, Only Ganguly Played Cricket.

Rahul Dravid played football and scored 60 goals against Sri Lanka.

Virender Sehwag played tennis and had score line of 114 against Bermuda and against Sri Lanka he played kabaddi and scored 48.

And the gr8 ganguly who was hitting sixes to the 2nd line bowling attack of Sri Lanka in India played cricket in the WC. But Sri Lanka had their front line bowlers, Vaas and Murali and the pitch also was not exported from India. So Ganguly scored a massive 7 Runs by playing cricket.

And the moment Ganguly was out and there was a match against SA at Eden, the adulation changed to South Africans.

Everyone saw that and also no one can say those were supporting the SA there and then were in minority, it was the entire EDEN booing Indian Players and supporting South Africans.

And they call themselves indians.

If Ganguly was a good batsmen even now, why suddenly this difference of scoring runs came in West Indies. Does he needs only Indian pitches to scored and get MOS against 2nd line Sri Lankan bowlers. And he got out in 43rd over against bangaldesh and that too he took double the balls nearly to score his runs.

If this mentally tough guy cannot handle pressure against bangladesh then anyone can imagine what SA, Australia, NZ etc would have done to him in the next round.
