Exactly. We all know what happened when Kapil dev was the coach. We lost 3-0 to the aussies, just as Jaywant Lele had predicted. 3 yrs down the line, we square a series 1-1, with the aussies managing to save the sydney test only through Waugh's brilliance, under a gora coach (Wright), a new captain (Ganguly), a batsman in the form of his life (RS Dravid) and other players doing well (VVS, ganguly in brisbane, discovery of Irfan Pathan and so on...). Well?
The coach has the least role to play in a team's success or failure, IMHO. But if you must, please note that almost ALL of India's recent success overseas has been under a foreign coach (Aus, SA, WI, Pak). Hard to argue with the data, right?
