SCANDLE
by James on Dec 03, 2007 11:55 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Hi
Hope BCCI is not paying a HUGE SALARY and taking a cut from his SALARY ? Anything is possible, where HUGH money is involved.

WHY NEED COACH, when Sharad Pawar and few more people who had holding POWERFUL / SR. POST IN BCCI, without even knowing ABC of Cricket, or held a bat or ball (other than their own balls and bat), WHY DO WE NEED A foreigner as a COACH.

Our team is doing well without a coach, let it continue................. for good

Do you realize how retarded that sounds? BCCI is the one paying for the coach's salary - why would it take a cut out of something it pays for? If you mean corrupt officials, they don't need to do that. They are a private club, and they can decide on an ad-hoc basis, who gets what. Why do you think politicians like Jaitley and Pawar are so interested in the BCCI?
Typical indian mentality too - we'll fix things only when they go wrong, instead of proactively trying to fix things so that they never go wrong. So what if India is doing well now - we will run into the aussies in a few months - that'll be the real test. The Pak team is weak - for the first time in recent memory, we have a pak team with a weak fast bowling attack. And that is exposing their decent but not great batsmen. It helps to have someone who can give you a different perspective on how to go about approaching the game (true with everything, hence consultancy is such a big business). A foreign coach will have a different perspective on things rather than a desi coach, which is probably what the board is banking on.
