Ajit Wadekar is clearly biased and most of what he says from time to time tends to reflect this bias.
Teams of the 70's may not have needed a coach but cricket is a much more competitive sport than it was then and is played all the year round. You simply have to have a coach. Wadekar as does any former cricketer knows this and it is sheer hypocracy to make such a statement.
As for foreign v Indian, obviously, a foreigner will need to adjust but if he was willing to than why not. We dont have many former cricketers who have played cricket recently - Srinath is the only one. Other former cricketers are not in touch with the game enough to be really useful and aware of all that is happening. Perhaps once Dravid, Ganguly, Kumble, Tendulkar retire, they might be valuable coaches.
Kirsten is a great choice - he is known for strong determination and an ability to play well against both fast and spin bowling. He has given good articles previously on what the Indians were doing wrong when batting in places like australia and south africa.
And that is where we need to coaches - in SA and Australia. We can always be happy to beat Pakistan and England and mostly at home, but the true aim is to beat Australia in Australia.
Kirsten has played international cricket recently, he is known as a strong person, is familiar with the latest cricketing tactics and has seen the influence of a good coach on a team. He is the perfect person.

You say Kirsten is a "strong person" and then go on to say that he is a "perfect person". - Don't simply repeat some comment which someone else has made. I see no way you can make an independent assessment of whether Kirsten is a strong or a weak person. This is hear-say.
Could you enlighten the leaders on what basis have you assessed Kirsten to be a "perfect person"?

I don't know who you are in the disguise of Stew India. But be assured that India will win nothing under a foreign coach. What way a foreigner is attached to your country or your players. A coach is a father-figure. Imagine, Greg Chappel, who is a batting wizard, couldn't find the reason in Sehawag's sudden decline and couldn't rectify his errors, if any. Then what did India gain from him? Coaching is a different ball game. One need to be psychologist and KIsten is just another player. Perhaps Sandeep Patil or Kapil will o a better job for India.
