Indian Team need a new captain
by VENUGOPAL on Aug 22, 2007 01:59 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

Dravid time and again proved that he is not fit to lead Indian Team. His decision not to force follow on in last test is one example. He does not want to fight.

I don't understand what Agarkar is doing in Indian Team. They cannot find any other strike bowler, who though don't take wickect, does not concede more than 60 runs in 10 overs.

well said venugopal... i too think that dravid shld have bowled all the 50 overs himself instead of having the established bowlers muck it up bowling the wrong line... the dravid shld hav pushed ganguly into the crease instead of walking asif he was taking a stroll in the park... dravid shld hav caught the hand of tendulkar and prevented him from playing straight into the hands of the fielder... he shld hav put some earphones into chawla and agarkar and made them run brilliantly between the wickets... and he shld hav put gambir into a rowing baot where he wld hav done a better job than standing in a batting crease... i know all these are in ur mind but u didnt speak of it out of modesty. i dont know when morons like u will grow u and treat a game of cricket more judiciously and not call for the blood of the captain once the team lost a match. a captain is as good as the team he leads.

sree lakshmy is absolutely correct. How can Dravid take responsibility for the misdeeds of his team members.I do agree that batting first was a better choice, but if we are a good team, we should have chased the -300 runs required. But we were not even near to achieving these, starting with the Ganguly run out & Tendulkar poor shot, followed by further hara-kiri of others. It is true that captain is as good as his team. It was team work & contributions by all which made Test win possible. also, Ponting basks in glory due to contributions by Aussie team members.

I do expect the team to bounce back. Best of luck to the team.

Do not under estimate Agarkar. He is no novice. on the contrary he is highly experienced and has given many good performances before. So including him in the team is not a bad decision. May be he is passing through a lean period.
