India in One-Dayers
by Subramanyam Garigipati on Aug 23, 2007 10:39 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

It is high time that India reverts to the sane and normal combination of 5 batsmen, wicket keeper and 5 bowlers. If 5 batsmen cannot make 150, even 11 batsmen would not. We cannot burn out our scarce resource of bowlers by using only 4 of them in the huge number of one-dayers that we will be playing.
It's been said again and again, but no one seems to pay any heed to it - India needs players who perform consistently, young or old. Until this is done, we will remain one of the weakest and most inconsistent team in this sport.

G Subramanyam

Dravid needs to retire from one day cricket to accomodate a fifth bowler or an all rounder.
