In my view it was not right to send back pathan, since pathan would not be bowling the way he used to, but his prence would have contributed to the stability in middle order, with his all round ability, if the management would have to call back the player then the axe should have fallen on wasim Jaffer, since the test cricket does not involves only defensive tactics, it is the game where you score fluently and put back the pressure on the opponent. Herewhere jaffer is slow in in innings, instead of that Gautham Gambhir would have been preferered and jaffer should have been called back.
