Sack the ''Mr. Imperfect'' Sehwang!
by Chandru on Jan 06, 2007 08:36 AM   Permalink

I was proved right. I earlier wrote in this column that Dinesh Karthick must be asked to open and that, he'd do a lot better than the `specialists'. Thanx to DK! India finally saw a century opening eicket partnership at last!

Karthick did an excellent job even in the second innings. He would have sure added another 50 to his kitty and propelled the Indian score further hadn't the tailenders let him and the country down.

Cheater Munaf Patel must sure be punished for hiding his injury and robbing another fit player's place in the playing 11. His ducklike running and 120 kmph pace and spooning the first delivery (7th Delivery of the over)he faced, showed him in poor light.

Umpiring has been far below par throughout the series. A few of the lapses let India down completely. Like Dravid being given out twice wrongly in the 2nd test and Tendulkar's lbw this innings. Had these decisions went right, India could have won the series 2-0.

Defending 210 is going to be a pretty difficult task with so much time still remaining in the game. Only Anil Kumble can make a difference. Let's see what happens on the final day...
