BCCI is the culprit!
by Amit Shesh on Sep 27, 2005 09:31 PM   Permalink | Hide replies

BCCI is a champion at doing such things--fighting bitterly over political nothings and brushing the real issues under the rug.

If the committee didn't find Chappell's ways of obtaining evidence to substantiate his claims trustworthy, it should've used better ones to counter his claims. Speaking to both separately and then announcing the verdict in less than a day is hardly a "comprehensive" review of what has happened. They should have spoken to both simultaneously if they really felt it was a case of miscommunication, like Chappell made Ganguly speak with Laxman before him. It is a shame to the former cricketers like Gavaskar and Shastri. But I really don't blame them--I guess they didn't have a chance to do anything so long as Mahendra and Dalmiya were also on the committee.

When will BCCI have office bearers that actually know cricket? It is the same state as our government, politicians managing the nation without an ounce of managerial capability. BCCI is a bunch of businessmen managing Indian cricket without themselves having any knowledge of the game.

Commitee did discuss togather with Chappell and Ganguly ! They talked to both of them individually and then at the end togather. Both of them gave the evidence and Ganguly DID provide the proof that he was genuinely injured. Its so funny everyone willing and so eager to give benefit of doubt blindly to Chappell. I personally do believe that Ganguly should not continue anymore as captain, HOWEVER as far as controversy is concerned it was chappell who exaggerated it. And one of the most important thing about coaching ANY side in the world is first win the confidence of the team and make them believe that he is there to change for better. Can Chappell say that? OFCOURSE NOT ...forget Ganguly more than half of the team is not happy with him. It was indeed a cheap shot from him to blame John Write without even having idea about how actually he worked inside dressing room. And how about sending sms and emails to his media friends in private and going for a toss himself in a first class game and ignoring Ganguly? NOT WELL DONE. Ofcourse its all lie for you all because its Ganguly who is supposed lie isnt it? Ganguly or no Ganguly bottom line is Chappell hasnt won confidence of players yet
