Ganguly's past 5 years & Indian Cricket Future
by Venkatesh Srinivasan on Sep 28, 2005 02:38 AM   Permalink | Hide replies

Hi Prem,

Just wanted to get your opinion on some comments made by people like Rahul Dravid that Ganguly has worked so hard in the past 5 years to turn this team around blah blah ...?

Wasnt that the reason he was the captain for this long? Just because he did some good work, how long can team India take him as a liability? He is no more than a tailender in his contribution for some time now towards team's cause.

I am disappointed that people like Rahul Dravid make such statements.

It should be commended that Ganguly did some good work and he was rewarded with captaincy, freedom and leniency etc for it. But its time to move on and look ahead, dont you think?

Miss your columns.

Regards,

Venkatesh.

Hi !

I am not your supporter, rather logically I am against you. But for now that is a non-issue to me.

I liked the way you spoke about your opinion, perhaps the most gentle, sober but strong. This is the way one should deal with an issue in media (electronic / print).

Debating with such type of people like you is always pleasureable than who uses the words 'kick out', 'idiots' etc. Unbiased analysis is more important than calling names - unforfunately most people forget this. Putting someone's opinion in a sober but sombre and strong way is the need of this generation ( and I appreciate you on that aspect ) .

Would the media-persons too realize this !
