One sensible brain in the midst of a bunch of fools

Of all the articles that i have been reading on rediff, this is one guy that has spoken some sense. It is now very clear that ganguly has got into the team on sympathy and mediocre performance ,( please..enough of his "wonderful" 39 and 40 ). waqar has been one non-indian who has spoken sense. yes ganguly is pathetic nowadays, though the selectors made asses of themselves first picking him as an allrounder, etc. compare waqar ( who was a real tough cookie in his time ) to ranatunga , who changes what he says in each column more times than we wash hands in a day!! we, as true cricket lovers hope that the media stops playing dirty double games just in order to make people read more of the crap that they dish out. well said waqar ! he has been one of the few people ( other than peter roebuck and trevor chesterfield ) to have spoken sense. ganguly's inclusion in this young fit team is nothing but a policy by the bengalis, for the bengalis and of the bengalis ( to modify what abraham lincoln said to suit this indian tamasha ). too bad dinesh karthik, u dont have someone to burn effigies or swing cycle chains or conduct mock rituals in tamilnadu!!

Great Analysis. I keep seeing all these messages supporting Ganguly's inclusion which makes me wonder if people are making these comments purely on cricketing merits. How else can you justify including a completely out of form of batsman compared to a rising talent like Kaif?

Pak people are doing this simply to create pressure on Sourav. It is as simple as that.

This doctorate cannot understand one simple thing. Waqar has done this simply to create pressure on Sourav, and the opportunity has been provided by our selectors by not including Sourav in the third test against SL. Waqar discussed how 'badly' Sourav played in Delhi test, but did not bother to discuss how 'wonderfully' the other contender Kaif played in the Motera test to justify his selection.

Young age cannot be the sole criterion for selection.

Aussies are winning not just because they replace players so frequently. They win beacuse they have a better composition comprising better elements. In short, they are winning just because they are the best, we have to accept this truth first.

my friend mr.chaudhuri,
u have told us that pakistan people want to put pressure on saurav. my question to u is simple...does he really deserve to be in the playing 11 ? ( look at yuvraj, whose 75 and 77 helped india win both the home tests ). so where is the question? and how come i dont hear u bengalis ( i think u r one ) bleeding your heart out for a guy like say balaji ( who was wrecker in chief in pakistan last time round ) or zaheer ( the highest wicket taker in ranji trophies now ) ? and how will kaif perform if he knows that whatever he does, until ganguly is struck by a bolt of lightning, he can never make it into the test team? his mediocre performance in the last test made it easier for the selectors and for bengal in general, with ganguly getting the sympathy vote! what a shame! u stand corrected...aussies are much better than us simply because of the pride they have in playing for their nation and their competitiveness . even presenting the cap to a rookie is a major ceremony there. no aussie worth his salt would look to get back into the team on mere sympathy, unlike your great dada!! no wonder indian cricket was so static these years!!
