Saurav & the people who doesn't like him
by Sujith on Aug 07, 2005 10:15 PM   Permalink

The opposition loby is missing the point. Have anyone before him has achieved what he has achieved for India before. Perhaps they don't want him to win any more games and build up an overall record for total wins. Or, is it because they can't do the same dirty politics since they have a Captain who selects the right players for Team India. Look at the way he developed players like Yuvi, Viru, Kaif & Pathan. And, he supports his players which most of the previous captains couldn't do or didn't want to do. I remember, how strongly Mr. Gavaskar, the pundit opposed the selection of Kaif for the team for Australia. If Gavaskar was the captain of India now, he wouldn't have selected him in the final eleven and we would've lost one of the best alrounders of the recent past after Kapil. Pathan eventually went on to win ICC award of the year. There are a lot of closed minded people around in Indian Cricket. We need to identify each one of them for a better future for Indian Cricket. I hope most of the people hv understood the concious effort behind people like Manjrekar. On the previous day Saurav had an open argument with Shastri, one must read it together to get a proper answer.
